B Corp Month: B Corps Walk the Talk and Their People Are the Proof

As B Corp Month kicks off this March, it’s the perfect opportunity to shine a light on the companies that are leading the way in business accountability – not just to shareholders, but to their most valuable asset: their people. At I Love My Job, we’ve always believed that work should be fulfilling, impactful, and built on strong values. As a certified B Corp, we are proud to be part of a global movement that takes accountability for how we treat our employees, and we know that the benefits extend beyond just business performance.

Why B Corps Matter: A Higher Standard for People and Purpose

B Corps are certified companies that meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. While there are many important aspects of B Corp certification, one that can’t be overlooked is how businesses treat their employees. Becoming a B Corp signals a commitment not just to profit but to employee well-being, growth, and work satisfaction—and for good reason.

In our 2024 B Corp Worker Satisfaction Survey, we discovered that B Corps aren’t just about doing good for the world—they’re also about doing good for the people within their organisations. Here’s how B Corps are stepping up to the plate when it comes to employee satisfaction:

1. Pride in Purpose-Driven Work

The first question we asked our survey respondents was about their sense of pride in working for a B Corp. A striking 96% said they feel immense pride in their company’s B Corp status. This sense of pride isn’t just about the company’s values—it’s about knowing that the business cares deeply for its employees and community. It creates a sense of belonging that goes beyond a pay check.

2. A Stronger Sense of Purpose

In a world where many workers feel disconnected from their work, it’s no surprise that 92% of our survey respondents said they feel a stronger sense of purpose working for a B Corp. This deep alignment between company mission and personal values creates more engaged employees, which ultimately leads to higher productivity, better retention, and a more positive workplace culture.

3. Employee-Driven Decisions

B Corps also hold themselves accountable in how they attract talent. 70% of respondents said a company’s B Corp certification positively influenced their decision to join. This shows that potential employees are actively seeking out companies that care about their people, which speaks volumes about the power of B Corp certification as a key differentiator in the job market.

4. A Workforce That Loves Their Jobs

Perhaps the most telling statistic from our survey was that 91% of employees working at B Corps indicated they “love their job”—a number far surpassing the national average of 17%. B Corps are setting the standard for job satisfaction by creating environments where employees feel valued, heard, and empowered.

How B Corps Take Accountability for Their People

The accountability B Corps have to their employees goes beyond surveys and feedback. It’s embedded in the fabric of how they operate. B Corps are required to meet social and environmental standards that go hand-in-hand with fair and equitable treatment of their workforce. From offering competitive benefits and ensuring workplace safety, to promoting diversity and inclusion, B Corps are committed to maintaining high standards of employee welfare. And importantly, they are held accountable for these practices through the B Corp certification process, which requires transparency and regular reporting.

The Future of Purpose-Driven Work: Taking Accountability to the Next Level

As we look ahead, we’re launching our 2025 B Corp Worker Satisfaction Survey, and we’re eager to hear how the conversation has evolved. The world of work is changing, and as businesses are increasingly called upon to do right by their people, it’s important to ensure that the B Corp movement continues to lead the way in transparency and accountability. We invite you to participate in the survey and help us track how worker satisfaction in B Corps has evolved since last year.
