Operations Manager, growing consumer brand

This is an exciting position for a dedicated Operations Manager with experience of supplying into major UK and US retailers, to join this ever-growing consumer brand, based in Watford (15 mins from Euston).

In this role you will be assisting in the management and organisation of the operations for the business. This includes the UK and US warehouse, supporting sales with customer queries and evaluating/coordinating stock. You will be managing any re-works and local deliveries, reviewing, and writing process, assisting in supplier management reviews and coordinating work between all departments.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing accounts globally from supply chain and order management for all customer accounts
  • Being the first point of contact for key customers and stakeholders post order being placed
  • Monitoring and managing stock profiles keeping the Purchasing Manager up to date
  • Monitoring stock takes and managing supply orders
  • Raising Purchase Orders with vendors and invoice dispatched orders where necessary
  • Using customer portals and managing EDI orders
  • Using both UK and USA warehouse portals (eMarpacs), Outlook, Excel, Bartender
  • Liaising with teams throughout the whole business such as compliance, sales, product design, finance, merchandising as needed
  • Attending weekly internal trading coordination meeting
  • Taking part in customer meetings
  • Completing New Line Forms, setting up new accounts and new products in eMarpac systems
  • Processing customers’ orders ensuring delivery dates are met
  • Set and manage key KPI’s for couriers, warehouses and other relevant suppliers
  • Manage the couriers to ensure samples arrive on time
  • Review and approve invoices from the US
  • Review supplier manuals to understand procedures ensuring the relevant teams get key information needed
  • Create and manage discrepancy reports for the UK and US warehouses
  • Manage local deliveries and ensure they arrive in accordance with the critical path
  • Manage any re-work of stock that needs to be completed

Qualifications and Prior Experience

  • 4+ years’ experience working within a global supply chain or Operations function
  • 2+ years’ experience of coordinating the delivery to major retailers
  • Previous work with a third-party warehouse to understand their process and ways of working
  • Experience working in related / seasonal product would be an advantage
  • Occasional client facing queries with great customer service and relationship building skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Word, Excel and previous experience with an ERP system
  • Numerate, highly organised with an understanding of operations including all departments
  • An understanding of the product manufacturing process
  • Proactive with the ability to act on your own initiative, whilst being a positive team member
