Operations Manager (REF 1253)

An established and successful British brand that supplies their products to leading retailers worldwide are looking for an accomplished and motivated Operations Manager to join the team.

In this pivotal role you will drive operational excellence, streamlining processes and ways of working to ensure the smooth running of the business and support its continued growth and expansion. Reporting into the Managing Director,  you will take ownership across the production, inventory management, logistics, and customer fulfilment functions, optimising efficiencies, and facilitating the seamless delivery of products to their international customer base.

Key responsibilities include:

Operational Strategy:

  • Optimise workflows across production, inventory management, logistics, and customer fulfilment functions of the business
  • Align day-to-day operations with the company’s strategic objectives and growth targets, identifying opportunities to scale and improve performance
  • Manage day-to-day operations, continuously refining processes to optimise and improve cost efficiency, quality, and delivery performance
  • Manage production schedules, ensuring on-time delivery and high level of quality control

Supply Chain Management:

  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality and reliability
  • Coordinate procurement, stock control, and order fulfilment to ensure swift and efficient delivery of product to retailers
  • Oversee compliance with UK and international regulations, including GPSR, tariffs, and plastic tax

Forecasting & Customer Fulfilment:

  • Work closely with key retailers and customer service teams to ensure customer orders are processed and delivered accurately and on time
  • Work with the Customer Service Team to resolve any fulfilment issues
  • Support the sales team with visibility of stock levels and fulfilment timelines
  • Investigate order errors or customer complaints and implement quality control measures to prevent recurrence
  • Assist in planning for promotions and peak periods with clear inventory and logistics strategies

Process Improvement & Reporting:

  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline operations and reduce costs
  • Drive improvements as the company scales, introducing new systems where needed
  • Oversee all IT and technical projects, including software and hardware requirements across the business
  • Track and analyse KPIs such as delivery performance, inventory turnover, and production efficiency
  • Present regular updates to the senior leadership team on operational progress and challenges

Experience & skills required:

  • Demonstrated experience in a senior operations, logistics, or supply chain position, ideally within a consumer products business
  • Strong knowledge of production, inventory, and supply chain management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to leadership
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate clearly at all levels
  • A proactive problem solver with the ability to foresee problems and propose solutions
  • A passion for quality and delivering customer satisfaction
  • Excellent attention to detail, with strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making
  • Proficiency in operational software and tools (ERP systems, inventory management software, etc.)
  • A hands-on, proactive approach
