Assistant Merchandiser, home and interiors (REF 1254)

  • London
  • Competitive Salary

Join one of the UK’s most iconic and admired home and interiors brands with a commitment to impeccable craftsmanship and sustainable production.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with strong systems and Excel skills, an analytical mind, and a real passion for product. By maintaining precise, real-time visibility on inventory, you’ll help align stock with demand and highlight opportunities or risks. Your reporting will be central to shaping commercial decisions and keeping operations running smoothly.

You’ll also sit within a brilliant merchandising team with huge potential for long term growth.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Reporting & Insights: Support trade reporting weekly, monthly and seasonally. Help identify key trends and drivers in product performance to inform decision making.
  • Stock performance monitoring and reporting: Monitor product performance to flag slower sellers and collaborate with the marketing team to boost visibility and sell-through. Report stock concerns early to keep availability on track.
  • Stock & Demand Planning: Help keep the balance between lean stock and strong sales. Maintain line flows, identify low or slow stock, and liaise with marketing to drive product visibility.
  • Inventory Accuracy: Ensure the ERP system reflects real-time stock levels. Own stock reconciliations weekly and troubleshoot discrepancies before they become a problem.
  • Forecasting & Intake: Monitor intake vs. purchase orders. Keep suppliers, internal teams and the warehouse aligned on what’s coming in and when.
  • Distribution & Allocation: Help manage stock flow across multiple sales channels, ensuring timely replenishment of key lines in both the UK and US.
  • Operational Excellence: Keep the system clean and up to date, whether it’s purchase orders, product flows or goods-in processing.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Attend production and buying meetings to stay ahead of any issues or updates. Communicate clearly and consistently with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Critical Path Management: Support the end-to-end critical path by attending weekly cross-functional meetings, helping resolve any scheduling issues, and keeping internal systems updated with the latest timelines and changes.
  • Stock Management: Participate in quarterly and annual physical stock takes — making sure what’s in the system reflects what’s on the shelves.

You’ll love this role if you:

  • Have 2-3years merchandising experience – ideally in an Assistant Merchandiser or Senior Merchandising Assistant role (if you’re an experienced, driven MAA with potential then we’d love to hear from you too)
  • Experience of WSSI ideal but not essential
  • Are organised, meticulous and enjoy making systems sing
  • Feel satisfaction seeing tasks ticked off and processes run smoothly
  • Enjoy being a bridge between numbers, product and people
  • Are naturally commercial, curious and solutions-focused
  • Have strong Excel skills and ideally experience with ERP systems
  • Thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where detail and accuracy matter
  • Want to grow your career in merchandising within a values-led brand that cares about design and quality

Diversity & Inclusion: ILMJ values diversity, equality and inclusion and encourages applicants from all backgrounds and identities.
