Are you a strategic sales leader ready to take the reins across diverse European markets? Are you driven by growing revenue, building high-performance teams, and creating meaningful partnerships with major retailers and distributors?
An established and ambitious international consumer goods brand is seeking a Sales Director to lead commercial growth across multiple European territories. You’ll work closely with senior leadership and account teams to shape sales strategy, drive profitability, and build strong relationships with retail and channel partners across Europe.
This is a pivotal senior role – blending commercial vision, leadership, and hands-on execution in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Define and execute short- and long-term sales strategies in collaboration with the European leadership team.
- Build and lead a high-performing sales/account team, fostering a culture of excellence, insight-led selling, and solution-focused growth.
- Cultivate strategic customer relationships – going beyond buyers to include operations, supply chain, and marketing contacts.
- Own performance across key European accounts – driving sales plans, pricing strategies, and account profitability.
- Lead quarterly and annual planning, including customer line reviews and commercial performance tracking.
- Identify and convert new business opportunities across multiple channels, including retail, wholesale, and resellers.
- Align with marketing, supply chain, and finance to ensure seamless execution of customer programs.
- Oversee P&L by account and support accurate forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.
- Represent the brand at customer meetings, trade shows, and key industry events.
- Continuously improve team capabilities through coaching, training, and leadership.
What you’ll bring:
- 10 years’ experience in senior sales leadership roles within consumer goods, ideally with pan-European retail exposure.
- Proven success in growing revenue, developing strategic partnerships, and leading account teams.
- Experience within home, outdoor a major advantage.
- Strong commercial acumen with deep experience in pricing, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Experience working with complex retail customers across grocery, discount, and mass channels.
- Highly skilled in negotiations, JBP planning, and fact-based selling.
- Confident communicator and presenter – fluent in English; additional languages (French, German, or Polish) are a strong plus.
- Familiarity with product development and how to build compelling value propositions for retail partners.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and finance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with MRP or ERP systems beneficial.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly across Europe.
