Product Development / Buying Assistant, beauty

£27,000, St Albans

A growing beauty and cosmetics company, based in St Albans, is looking for a Product Development / Buying Assistant to support the product development team across sample management, approvals and artwork processes. This growing brand supplies major retailers across the UK and Europe and continues to go from strength to strength. This would be a great first role for anyone looking to get their career started within product development or buying.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage all incoming and outgoing samples, liaising with the product development team, factories, licensors and sales to ensure samples are received on time and processed as required.
  • Photograph and store all samples accurately, keeping records up to date and accessible for the wider team.
  • Upload product concepts to licensor portals, tracking feedback and approvals and keeping the product development team informed of progress.
  • Assist the product development team with artwork checking and artwork briefing.
  • Manage the re-order process, liaising with compliance and product development to ensure re-order products are compliant and artwork is up to date before production begins.
  • Set up and manage product codes and barcodes.

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience of working in an office environment.
  • Experience within product development or buying would be beneficial but drive and hunger to start your career within this area is just as important!
  • Highly organised, with a methodical and accurate approach to managing multiple samples and processes at once.
  • A confident communicator, comfortable liaising with factories, licensors and internal teams.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills.
  • A genuine interest in product development, with an eye for detail and a desire to build a career in the field
