Junior Designer
- £28,000 – £33,000 DOE
- Richmond
Love the idea of seeing your designs on shelves, not just in a portfolio? We’re after a creative, enthusiastic Junior Designer to join a fast-moving studio where no two days – or briefs – are the same.
You’ll be part of an open, energetic team that thrives on creativity and pace. If you’re organised, quick to pick things up, and genuinely excited by packaging, product, and graphic design, this is your chance to get real work in front of real customers, fast.
What you’ll be doing:
- Spotting design trends before they hit the mainstream and keeping an eye on deadlines to make sure nothing slips.
- Producing mock-ups, photography, visuals, presentation boards and style guides.
- Applying in-house and customer brand guidelines accurately across product ranges.
- Work closely with product development, marketing and sales to make sure every sample, from colour matching to print registration and cutter-guides, is spot on before mass production.
- Preparing print-ready files for factories, and making artwork changes as needed.
- Liaise directly with factories to check and approve files for pre-mass samples
- Photograph products for catalogues, websites and social media.
- Help produce sell sheets, trade fair materials and other marketing collateral, and support the wider team wherever needed.
- Keeping files organised on the server as directed by your Design Manager.
What you’ll bring:
- A degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design or a related subject, or around 1-3 years’ equivalent experience.
- Some packaging experience, whether from university projects, self-directed work or a previous role.
- Solid print design skills and confidence in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
- Basic photography know-how.
- A sharp eye for colour, layout, composition and typography, and the discipline to stick to brand guidelines.
- A commercial mindset – you understand shelf impact and what makes consumers pick one product over another.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the organisation to juggle multiple projects without missing a beat.
Why you’ll enjoy it:
If you like moving fast, getting stuck in, and seeing your work go from screen to shelf, you’ll fit right in here!
