We are looking for a BAA / Buyers Admin Assistant to join a successful, thriving business with a global retail customer base. In this role you will work with design-led product and alongside a talented team, ensuring that you are purchasing the best quality products at the best price, whilst ensuring that target margins are being met. The successful candidate will have a genuine desire to pursue a career within Buying, and ideally have some experience of / exposure to buying, purchasing, wholesale environment, or a qualification in a related field.
Duties in this role will include:
- Supporting in sourcing goods and materials from international suppliers
- Working closely with suppliers on a daily basis, build strong relationships
- Raising purchase orders, placing orders with suppliers in the UK, Europe, and Far East
- Raising and processing purchase orders for retail customers
- Checking and approving packaging artwork
- Working closely with the Sales and Design teams to ensure suppliers have all the necessary information for planned orders to enable production and deliveries to progress efficiently
- Sample approval and management
- Maintaining critical paths, chasing suppliers, and communicating any changes to the relevant teams
- Planning and arrange deliveries from port to warehouse and to ensure timely arrivals
- Maintaining production and shipping trackers
Skills and qualities needed for this role:
- Some exposure to buying, purchasing, wholesale or procurement within a wholesale / B2B environment, or a qualification in a related field
- Strong communication skills with the ability to form excellent working relationships both internally and externally, domestic and oversees
- Proactive person, who thrives in a fast-paced role and busy working environment
- Some knowledge of critical paths and product development timelines an advantage
- Some experience working with / exposure to global factories would be ideal
- Flexible, driven, numeric and highly organised
- Brilliant multi-tasker with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Good Excel and MS Office skills
