Assistant Merchandiser, gift & home (REF 1288)

We are looking for an Assistant Merchandiser / Junior Merchandiser to join a growing consumer products brand. In this role, you’ll be supported with full training and ongoing mentorship, developing your skills in forecasting, demand planning, and inventory management across international channels. You will work closely with their Product, Sales, and Operations teams to support new season product launches, monitor sell-through and sell-outs, and help ensure that all sales opportunities are maximised.

You will gain hands-on experience working with large datasets, high SKU counts, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating demand plans for all product classifications on a seasonal/monthly basis Support stakeholders in building forecast plans for wholesale and eCommerce channels across multiple markets
  • Help plan new product launches, providing forecasts and analysis to anticipate promotions, market trends, and seasonal variations
  • Support the Sales, Product, and Operations teams in tracking and improving forecast accuracy on a monthly/seasonal basis
  • Work with the Ecommerce team to ensure digital accounts have optimal stock levels
  • Assist with planning tools using sales, stock, and intake information, identifying potential errors or anomalies
  • Help manage SKU inventory levels, working with Operations to minimise weeks cover and maximise stock turn
  • Prepare information for seasonal/monthly/weekly forecast meetings, including forecast accuracy, current ROS vs weeks cover, seasonal fulfilment, and in-season sell-out %
  • Collaborate with Product, Sales, and Operations teams to support buy fulfilment and analyse MOQs to reduce risks
  • Identify opportunities to optimise inventory and meet customer demands across all channels
  • Use the data to inform the staff planning for both the UK and US warehouses during peak periods
  • Carry out ad hoc analysis to support the planning team’s objectives

Skills & experience required:

  • 2+ years experience within merchandising, demand planning, supply chain or operations
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and reporting tools – must be able to function on Excel to intermediate level including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables and intermediate level formulas
  • Experience with ERP planning tools or data analytics is helpful
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Commercially aware, with an analytical mindset and attention to detail
  • Proactive, motivated, and eager to learn
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
