International Shipping & Logistics Coordinator

  • £35,000 – £40,000 DOE
  • Surrey

Do you thrive on keeping things moving, solving problems before they happen, and making sure every shipment lands exactly when and where it should?

We’re looking for an experienced Shipping & Logistics Coordinator to take ownership of the movement of goods from international suppliers to a global customer base for a successful, fast-growing consumer product business. In this role you’ll coordinate directly with freight forwarders, shipping agents, and suppliers, track every shipment from booking to final delivery, and keep internal teams – and retail customers – fully informed. Bringing your FMCG and international shipping experience, you’ll help streamline and improve this brands logistics network as they continue to grow their presence across Europe and further afield.

Why you’ll love this job

This is a great opportunity to take real ownership of a growing international shipping operation, with the autonomy to shape how it runs, and genuine scope to develop your career within supply chain and logistics. This is a varied, fast-paced role working with a great team – If you’re proactive, organised and someone who takes pride in getting the details right, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing international shipments end-to-end, from initial booking through to final delivery, ensuring swift and accurate deliveries from global suppliers to retail customers
  • Liaising directly with freight forwarders, shipping agents and suppliers to arrange shipments and secure the most efficient and cost-effective options
  • Maintaining a central shipment tracker, monitoring key milestones against agreed timelines (cargo ready dates, ETDs and ETAs), chasing suppliers and agents where needed
  • Monitoring On Time In Full (OTIF) performance and flagging delivery risks early, with clear actions to resolve them and overcome any blockers
  • Acting as the main internal point of contact for shipping queries, providing proactive updates on schedule changes and delays to the wider team
  • Coordinating and checking shipping documentation – bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, etc – to ensure smooth customs clearance
  • Building strong working relationships with both internal teams and external partners – freight forwarders, factories, and service providers –
  • Ensuring imports and exports comply with relevant international regulations, liaising with suppliers and the Compliance team as needed
  • Producing regular shipping status reports on upcoming shipments and outstanding bookings, flagging any potential issues
  • Working with 3PL warehouse providers to support smooth receipt or goods and optimum stock flow planning
  • Obtaining freight quotations and supporting cost-effective transport decisions
  • Driving process improvements to boost shipment visibility, efficiency, and performance

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in an international shipping, freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain coordination role within a wholesale, distribution, or product-based business
  • Experience working directly with freight forwarders, shipping agents, 3PLs, and Asia-based factories
  • A solid understanding of international sea freight, FOB shipping, and delivering into FMCG retailers within the EU and UK markets
  • A fantastic communicator and relationship builder, both internally and externally, and a strong team player
  • Solid knowledge of customs clearance and import procedures
  • A solutions-focused approach, always calm under pressure
  • Excellent organisational skills, able to manage multiple shipments and priorities at once
  • A confident, proactive communicator – happy chasing suppliers and agents to keep deadlines on track
  • Data-driven and accurate with proficiency in Excel and shipment tracking systems
