An successful consumer products business is looking for a driven and motivated Key Account Manager to join their team to manage their key retail accounts. This is newly created position due to continued company growth and success.

We are looking for someone with demonstrated Key Account Management experience working with Key accounts and FMCG retailers across gifting, homewares, beauty or similar product area. You will build strong relationships with your account base, providing exceptional service is so key for this business, so you will be highly commercial and a natural relationship builder at all levels. This is an exciting opportunity to join a great company where there is always lots of opportunity for progression and to take ownership.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing key accounts, building strong, positive working relationships and fully understanding their market and business needs
  • Ensuing first class customer service at all times, ensuring OTIF delivery
  • Meeting with key retailers as required, representing the brand and ensuring expectations are not only met but exceeded
  • Ensuring any specific labelling / packaging requirements are communicated in a timely manner to the wider business to aid swift and accurately production and delivery
  • Working closely with internal teams including buying, design, compliance and the warehouse to ensure orders are delivered accurately and swiftly
  • Critical path management to ensure key dates are met for your accounts
  • Ensuring all required testing, quality check and certifications are obtained
  • Managing and mentoring the sales team, including onboarding, training, workload management and development

Skills & experience required:

  • Strong Account Management experience in a similar position working with leading UK volume retailers and / or the supermarket groups
  • An excellent communicator with strong written and verbal English, and a natural ability to form good working relationships at all levels of seniority, both with internal teams and external partners
  • A background working with FMCGs and experience in a working directly with buyers on private label product ranges a benefit
  • A customer-centric approach and desire to provide outstanding customer experience
  • Ability to manage complex accounts with high volumes and SKU counts
  • Highly commercial with a passion for product
  • An excellent communicator, adept at building relationships both internally & externally
  • Strong MS Excel skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Proactive & driven, wanting to take ownership and drive projects forward
