A successful brand who are driving sustainability and innovation within their product category are looking for a Product Technologist to join their team.

In this role you will work with their global vendor base throughout the production process, manage product testing, liaise with their global retail customers across own-label product requirements, and work side-by-side with the NPD team to advise on both opportunities and risks for new products and concepts. You will also be involved in the business’ drive towards sustainability, looking at and improving the eco credentials of products and materials wherever possible.

Duties will include:

  • Working closely with their global vendor base across compliance, testing, and QC issues, ensuring all relevant critical path dates are achieved
  • Management and maintenance of Technical files / compliance database across both own label and main range products  
  • Involvement with the NPD team during initial stages of development to both risk assess and advise on opportunities, flagging any potential compliance issues and devising testing plans
  • Manage the testing process for new products, ensuring all products comply with the appropriate legislation for the markets to which they will be shipped
  • Produce and manage all required data and certification for the retailers own label products, updating customer portals as required
  • Track and manage any quality or testing issues– negotiating, resolving issues, and coming up with positive resolutions
  • Packaging and technical artwork accuracy and compliance approval
  • Keeping abreast of developments the compliance, being an expert in your field

Skills & experience required:

  • Solid experience within a Product Technologist or Quality Assurance role within a wholesale consumer product business
  • Direct experience working with global vendors and testing houses
  • An excellent communicator at all levels, both written and verbally, internally and externally
  • Highly analytical, deadline driven, and with a detail-orientated nature 
  • A skilled multi-tasker, with excellent organisational skills who thrives in a fast-paced role
  • Excellent IT skills, including Excel
  • Proactive, a strong team player, and a positive outlook
