Senior Product Developer, Creative Brand

  • £50,000 – £55,000, DOE
  • London

Do you love spotting trends before everyone else? Thrive on turning ideas into commercially successful products? Ready to lead exciting development projects from concept to launch?

We’re partnering with an ambitious and fast-growing consumer products business looking for a Senior Product Developer to play a key role in shaping the next generation of products for major retail and customer accounts. This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role for someone who combines creativity with commercial awareness and enjoys leading projects in a fast-paced environment.

The Opportunity

As part of a dynamic product team, you’ll take ownership of developing innovative products from initial idea through to final production. You’ll collaborate with internal teams, retail customers, and global suppliers to deliver exciting, commercially successful ranges while mentoring more junior team members along the way. No two days are the same – one day you could be researching trends and concepts, the next negotiating with suppliers, reviewing prototypes, or presenting ideas to customers.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Driving Product Innovation

  • Research trends, retail markets, and competitor activity to generate fresh product ideas
  • Lead the development of new products from initial concept through to customer-ready launch
  • Continuously improve and evolve existing product ranges
  • Support customer pitches and proposal meetings with tailored product recommendations and samples
  • Attend customer meetings where required to discuss innovation opportunities and product development plans
  • Organise and lead product playtesting sessions to refine and enhance concepts

Supplier & Commercial Management

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partners
  • Create detailed supplier briefs and quotation requests
  • Source product components, packaging, and prototypes
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure sustainability goals and compliance standards are met
  • Negotiate costs and engineer products to achieve target margins without compromising quality
  • Work closely with Production team to identify the best suppliers and materials for each project
  • Monitor and challenge costs across products, logistics, packaging, and external resources to maximise profitability

Project Ownership & Delivery

  • Manage product specifications and development documentation accurately
  • Coordinate artwork workflows and briefing processes across creative and technical teams
  • Review products for trademark and IP considerations
  • Maintain visibility across all stages of the product lifecycle and ensure projects stay on track
  • Approve specifications, artwork, and pre-production samples ahead of mass manufacture
  • Partner closely with Production teams to ensure smooth execution and delivery timelines

What We’re Looking For:

  • A commercially minded and highly creative individual with a passion for innovation and product development
  • Confident managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experienced working with suppliers and negotiating costs
  • Comfortable presenting ideas and collaborating with customers and stakeholders
  • Naturally proactive, solutions-focused, and commercially aware
  • An excellent communicator with strong organisational skills

Diversity & Inclusion: ILMJ values diversity, equality, and inclusion and encourages applicants from all backgrounds and identities.
