Assistant Merchandiser, homewares

  • London
  • 12-month fixed-term contract, full time
  • £36,000

A well-known interiors brand is looking for a detail-loving Assistant Merchandiser to join their close-knit team. You’ll be the engine behind accurate, real-time stock data, keeping inventory in line with demand and giving the wider team the numbers they need to make smart commercial decisions, all while working with beautiful products in the home and interiors space.

You’ll bring 2+ years’ experience in a data-heavy role, ideally within merchandising, along with an organised approach, a meticulous eye for detail and strong Excel skills.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their career, joining a vibrant, driven business with a collaborative culture and impressive year-on-year growth.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Update the weekly trade reports and Sales by Line, spotting trends, flagging risks and suggesting actions. Identify slow sellers and work with sales and marketing to get them moving.
  • Own weekly stock reconciliations so nothing goes missing. Clean up open purchase and sales orders and report month-end stock holding to Finance.
  • Complete daily allocations and manage the transfer tracker, making sure stock moves efficiently between locations and channels and is always reflected in the system.
  • Run the monthly stock count at the warehouse and help organise the annual global count, reconciling results and reporting any discrepancies.
  • Keep a close eye on weekly intake, working with suppliers to land orders on time and in full.
  • Share a forward view of intake with the warehouse and partner with the purchasing team on assembly orders so stock is booked in promptly and accurately.
  • Update weekly line flows and help maintain strong availability on bestsellers across online, retail and wholesale, ensuring key continuity lines are covered in both the UK and US.
  • Keep reviewing processes and controls, bringing ideas to make things run even more smoothly.

This role is for you if you:

  • Are organised, meticulous and love making systems work.
  • Get real satisfaction from crossing things off your list.
  • Have strong Excel skills and are confident with formulas and basic functions.
  • Are keen to build expert knowledge of an ERP system.
  • Are commercially aware, adaptable and happy juggling shifting priorities.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently, both in writing and in person.
  • Want to grow your career within a values-led brand that cares about design and quality.
